“Will my kid become violent?”
No way! Our purpose is not to teach your child how to beat up the other kids in the neighborhood.
Our goal is teaching kids self-defense as a path to personal growth and development.
They learn to treat everything with respect and to treat others as they would expect to be treated.
Sometimes a kid begins martial arts as violent and aggressive child and they are able to use the tools we give them to become non-violent. So, do martial arts make a kid violent? Absolutely not!
“My child is not athletic; will martial arts be too difficult?”
It’s common for children to find success and fall in love with martial arts even though they were not successful in team sports.
Why is this? Well, in martial arts each kid moves at their pace.
In team sports, other kids can be incredibly cruel; this can harm the un-athletic kid’s self-esteem and leave lasting scars.
In martial arts, there is now one to be mean to them and destroy their self-esteem. Martial arts is self-paced and some kids will learn at a faster rate than others nevertheless the kids that are un-athletic are not valued any less than there more athletic classmates.
We encourage everyone regardless of the athletic skills.
“Will my kid be proud of their martial art talent?”
Children are able to find great satisfaction in the ability to activities that are considered cool; such as playing an instrument, dancing, juggling, skateboarding, etc…
When a kid performs martial arts at a talent show, everyone is completely amazed.
There's simply something fascinating and exciting about watching martial arts. And your child will take great pride in his abilities.
“What age is appropriate for martial arts?”
We have programs for kids who are 3 years old all the way to teenagers. And we even have programs for adults.
So to be honest – every age is appropriate. No child is too young or too old. We have a class that fits just right.
“Will my child get hurt?”
Is there a chance that a child will get injured in martial arts class? Like all other sport there is a chance for injury, however, martial arts has less injuries then most all of the popular sports such as basketball, football and soccer.
Our parents know that we take safety seriously and it is one of our top priorities.
We provide step-by- step instruction and do everything in our control to protect your child's well-being. While I can't guarantee that your child won't be injured, I can tell you that almost no children receive injuries in my program.
And that's because we take your child's safety very seriously.
“Will my child have fun? Will he want to stick with the program?”
As parents we are often nagging are children to get ready to go to an appointment. We often hear, “Aww…. but I want to finish this level on my game!” or “My show is not over!” It becomes a battle to get them to get ready and we need to just shut off the games system or the Television so we can arrive on time for our appointment.
We often end up being the “meanie” because we have to yell “Hurry up!” “We'll be late!” Then we have to deal with a pouting child and it makes the trip to our appointment almost unbearable.
Fortunately, one a child starts taking martial arts lessons, something fascinating happens… The tables can flip, (not that we are going to whine that we have to take them). We regularly that the children are the yelling these things at their parents! They become upset because they don't want be late or miss a class.
Many of our parents use ours martial arts classes as motivation for their children to get their chores and homework done. The reward you ask – Kids do there chores and homework, there is less battles in the house, the kids get to go to martial arts and everyone is all smiles.
Why? Your child knows that they are going to have an awesome time at class and will be laughing smiling and sweating at the end class. They’ll want to stick with the classes too, because they will set goals a realize their potential.
“Is martial arts just for boys? Or can my girl take martial arts too?”
Martial arts are not just for boys; girls love it just as much and will develop the same life skills.
In our programs we have often seen the some girls are tougher than the boys in their class, they don’t back down from a challenge and show a great deal of perseverance.
There is no need to fear about your little girl getting injured or being anxious about working with boys. Often times it is the other way around.
